Explore Kidney Disease Clinical Trials at Mount Sinai
Mount Sinai is studying new ways to prevent, manage, and treat kidney disease in the field known as nephrology. Our clinical trials focus on these conditions:
- Lupus nephritis: This trial targets kidney inflammation caused by lupus. With lupus, your immune system attacks healthy parts of the body.
- IgA nephropathy (IgAN): With this disease, a type of antibody builds up in the kidneys. This can cause inflammation. It can also lead to blood or protein in the urine.
Extended TARPEYO® treatment study
Zigakibart extension study
Felzartamab infusion study - Focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS): This disease causes scarring in the tiny filters inside the kidneys. These scars can make it harder for the kidneys to clean the blood.
Metformin study for FSGS
DMX-200 study for children with FSGS - Autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease: This disease runs in families. It causes fluid-filled cysts to grow in the kidneys. Over time, these cysts can make it harder for the kidneys to work.
- Type 2 diabetes and chronic kidney disease (CKD): We are testing a treatment to see if it helps slow or prevent kidney damage in people with these conditions. We hope the treatment will help kidneys continue to work and reduce the risk of kidney failure in the future.
- CKD and acute kidney injury: The Kidney Precision Medicine Project aims to help us better understand these conditions. It is studying kidney tissue and health information from volunteers. We hope it will lead to more personalized treatments and better care. The study is sponsored by the National Institutes of Health.
