Debra Jaeger

Chief Revenue Officer

In 2025, Debra Jaeger, MSN, RN, was appointed Mount Sinai Health System’s first Chief Revenue Officer. In this role, Ms. Jaeger is responsible for integrating revenue cycle operations across the Health System, working in partnership with the sites and departments. She is working to reduce variation in our processes and align us with industry best practices. She also aims to eradicate silos, elevate the best talent across the Health System, and improve communications among the various people and groups involved in the revenue cycle. Examples of functions she will help unify under the integrated revenue cycle operations include registration, authorization, Health Information Management, coding, and documentation.

Ms. Jaeger’s work to establish a system-led revenue function will allow Mount Sinai to fully leverage our collective knowledge, data, and expertise, which is crucial when working with insurance payers to resolve denied payments and secure appropriate reimbursement rates. From the patient’s perspective, the transition to a single billing office will simplify the process for them and their families, reducing or eliminating the multiple, varying cost estimates and separate bills, and making it easier for them to navigate the organization and manage their financial responsibilities.

Ms. Jaeger brings a background in both finance and health care to this role. She joined Mount Sinai from Lehigh Valley Health Network in Pennsylvania, where she spent four years as Senior Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer for that 13-hospital health system. Earlier she served as Vice President of Clinical Revenue at Universal Health Services, a large system based in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, and as Director of Care Management Operations at Penn Medicine in Philadelphia.

Ms. Jaeger trained as a critical care and emergency nurse and practiced clinically alongside her finance responsibilities until 2019. She holds an MSN from Drexel University.
