Program Against Commercial Sexual Exploitation

Commercial sexual exploitation (CSE) can be defined as a person being made to engage in sexual activities for money or profit due to the force, fraud, or coercion of another individual or group. Domestic and international trafficking are both forms of CSE. These serious social problems affect people here in NYC and around the world.

The SAVI Program Against Commercial Sexual Exploitation is dedicated to creating a positive change in the lives of CSE survivors. SAVI’s goal is to empower survivors to heal from the trauma of violence and move beyond an existence of day-to-day survival. With counseling and support services, SAVI reaches out to meet survivors wherever they are, using a harm reduction approach and focusing on safety, education, wellness, and stability. SAVI also works to develop prevention and outreach programming for specific high-risk populations.
