Become a Mount Sinai Sustainability Champion

Together, we can make a difference at The Mount Sinai Hospital. However, it won’t happen unless you and others like you help. With over 20,000 employees, our carbon, energy, and waste footprints are substantial. This also means we have a tremendous opportunity to implement sustainable practices that will affect our neighbors, both near and far.

You can help advance the Greening of Mount Sinai by:

  • Promoting energy efficiency and Greenhouse Gas (GHG) awareness within a designated building, division, or department.
  • Buying local produce at the Mount Sinai Greenmarket or joining the Mount Sinai Farm Share.
  • Learning where the appropriate recycling containers are located in your area and sharing that information with staff. Also, encouraging your colleagues to segregate waste and use the proper receptacles.
  • Becoming a Sustainability Champion and maintaining an active role on the Greening Mount Sinai Committee.

If you are interested in making the medical center a healthier place, become a Mount Sinai Sustainability Champion. As a Sustainability Champion, you will have the opportunity to share your ideas with the Greening Mount Sinai Committee, encourage staff in your area to get involved, and become an integral part of the changes taking place at The Mount Sinai Hospital.
