You must renew your health insurance by the deadline you are provided. You will receive a notice by mail, e-mail, or text 1-2 months before your insurance is scheduled to end. This notice will explain how to renew your insurance, and give you a deadline for renewing. It is very important that you follow the instructions to renew your insurance as soon as you receive your notice.
How can I prepare?
Make sure your contact information is up to date with both your insurance provider and your doctor. Make sure they have your correct phone number, address, and any other contact information.
How can I find out when my insurance will end?
You will receive a notice by mail, e-mail, or text 1-2 months before your insurance is scheduled to end. In the meantime, you can also contact the New York State Department of Health or your local department of social services to find out the date it is set to end.
