Interventional Spine and Sports Medicine

The Interventional Spine and Sports Medicine Program focuses on the management of musculoskeletal conditions, especially disorders of the spine. Patients vary widely, from professional athletes to “weekend warriors”. From making the initial diagnosis to acute and long-term management, our goals are to manage our patients’ pain and enhance their mobility.

For each we develop an individualized treatment plan that focuses on improving function through a variety of treatment options, such as

  • Physical and occupational therapy
  • Acupuncture
  • Medication management

If acute pain becomes chronic, a variety of interventional techniques are used to maximize mobility and minimize medication use, including implanting spinal cord stimulators and performing fluoroscopic- and ultrasound-guided injections.

Our physicians are fellowship-trained experts in the advanced management of bone, muscle, nerve, joint and spine disorders. Serving thousands of patients annually, the Interventional Spine and Sports Medicine Program is one of the fastest-growing services provided by the Mount Sinai Rehabilitation Center.
