Mount Sinai Opens New York City’s First Emergency Room for Geriatric Patients 
April 6, 2012 - The Mount Sinai Hospital, a leader in geriatric care with the most highly rated program in the country, has opened New York City’s first emergency room exclusively for patients 65 and older.

January 26, 2012 - Erin DuPree, MD, and Corita Grudzen, MD, MSHS, have been selected as inaugural members of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services’ (CMS) Innovation Advisors Program.

 

New York City Names The Mount Sinai Medical Center a Cardiac Arrest Center for Therapeutic Hypothermia 
January 15, 2009 - Mount Sinai received the designation because its emergency department administers a delicate cooling therapy to cardiac arrest patients that reduces the chance of brain damage and increases survival.
