The Mount Sinai Therapeutic Infusion Center is a new, state-of-the-art infusion center dedicated to providing advanced biologic therapies to adults and children, who have a variety of immune-mediated disorders, on a convenient, outpatient basis. We take pride in being able to offer comprehensive infusion therapy services – services focused on comfort and backed by the latest research advances that fit easily into our patients’ full and active lives. (Infusion therapies are medications administered intravenously or through other non-oral routes.)
A Leader in Research and Patient Care
Mount Sinai has been a leader in immune deficiency research and education for more than a quarter of a century. Many of the therapeutic techniques for intravenous treatment used today were pioneered here. Located in the new, ultramodern Leon and Norma Hess Center for Science and Medicine, at 1470 Madison Avenue between 101st and 102nd streets in Manhattan, the Center is the latest extension of our expertise in caring for patients with immune-mediated disorders (also known as immune-mediated inflammatory diseases, these are disorders that affect the immune system and can target any part of the body.)
The Center provides state-of-the-art infusion therapies for more than 20 immune-mediated disorders and conditions, including Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, gout, and multiple sclerosis, among others. (This does not include chemotherapy treatment which is offered at Mount Sinai’s Ruttenberg Treatment Center.)
At the core of our services are outstanding patient care, comfort, and convenience. Each of the 10 spacious, private infusion therapy suites at the Center is equipped with a large reclining chair, flat-screen TV, and WiFi access. In addition to many other patient-focused amenities, we offer evening appointments and validated (paid for) parking.
Our Multidisciplinary Advantage
Led by the Therapeutic Infusion Center’s Medical Director Dr. Charlotte Cunningham-Rundles, an internationally recognized leader in immune deficiency research, we bring together under one roof a collaborative team of highly trained physicians, nurses, and on-site pharmacists to implement an individualized treatment plan for each patient based on his or her doctor’s recommendations.
As part of one of the nation’s leading health systems and a top-ranked medical school, we have the advantage of being able to easily collaborate with world-class experts at Mount Sinai in the areas of clinical immunology, gastroenterology, neurology, endocrinology, rheumatology, dermatology, geriatrics, pediatric gastroenterology, and transplantation to ensure that each patient’s needs are met. This also means that we are able to offer our patients timely access to leading-edge treatment options as they are approved.
