Yasmin Khan, MD, is an Assistant Professor at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and practices endocrinology at Mount Sinai Doctors Queens. Prior to medical school, she studied psychology, biology, and chemistry at East Tennessee State University, where she also conducted research in diabetes and bariatric surgery. She went on to earn her medical degree at the Trinity College Dublin School of Medicine in Ireland. Dr. Khan completed her residency in internal medicine at Case Western Reserve University. From there, she completed her fellowship in endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism at the University of Florida where she served as chief fellow.
Dr. Khan is a board-certified endocrinologist and treats a wide variety of glandular and hormonal conditions such as diabetes, thyroid and parathyroid disorders, thyroid nodules, thyroid cancer, and osteoporosis. She holds the Endocrine Certification in Neck Ultrasound (ECNU), administered by the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology in the evaluation of thyroid, parathyroid, and lymph nodes by ultrasound and fine needle aspiration. She is also certified in clinical densitometry (CCD) in the evaluation of osteoporosis. Dr. Khan takes a patient-centered approach to medicine with an emphasis on communication and listening, tailoring a treatment plan to each patient’s individual lifestyle. Dr. Khan is passionate about providing the most optimal care for her patients, and she strongly supports the efforts of those who are motivated in making healthy changes in their lives. She finds it most rewarding when her patients see an overall improvement in their health and quality of life.
