Dr. Simma-Chiang specializes in the medical and surgical care of male and female voiding dysfunction patients, general urology, with an emphasis in female urology. Her areas of expertise include male and female incontinence, male and female voiding dysfunction, overactive bladder (OAB), benign prostatic hypertrophy (BPH), recurrent urinary tract infections (UTIs), and urinary tract and pelvic reconstruction. Dr. Simma-Chiang performs endoscopy, laparoscopy, transvaginal, robotic, and open surgery. Other procedures include prostate biopsies, urodynamics, cystoscopy, ureteroscopy for stone disease, transurethral resection of prostate, midurethral and retropubic sling surgery, artificial urinary sphincter placement, sacral nerve stimulation, prolapse repair, and pelvic reconstruction.
Dr. Simma-Chiang graduated with Honors Distinction in Human Biology from Brown University. She completed a 6-year residency training from the USC Institute of Urology, Keck School of Medicine, University of Southern California (USC) in Los Angeles, California, and fellowship training in Female Urology and Voiding Dysfunction with the Department of Urology at NYP-Weill Cornell Medical College. Dr. Simma-Chiang has co-authored and published several peer-reviewed articles as well as chapters in well-recognized urology journals and books. She is an active member of the American Urological Association (AUA), New York Section of the AUA, the Society of Women in Urology (SWIU), and the Society for Urodynamics, Female Pelvic Medicine and Urogenital Reconstruction (SUFU).
Dr. Simma-Chiang also serves as the Associate Residency Program Director for our Urology Residency Program and is an advocate for resident medical education. She is also active at Mount Sinai St. Luke's Hospital Administration and serves on the Clinical Operations, Root-Cause Analysis (RCA), and Hospital-Acquired Infections (HAI)
