Dr. Lindsey Douglas is the Medical Director of Patient Safety and Quality at Mount Sinai Kravis Children’s Hospital and Medical Director of Pediatric Hospital Medicine in the Jack and Lucy Clark Department of Pediatrics. She graduated magna cum laude from Princeton University with a degree in structural engineering and architecture and received her medical degree at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine via early admission in the Engineering and Medicine Program. Dr. Douglas completed pediatric residency at Yale-New Haven Children’s Hospital and later received a Master of Science in Clinical Research at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She was the first Director of the Division of Hospital Medicine at Maimonides Infants’ and Children’s Hospital in Brooklyn and then a pediatric hospitalist, researcher, and medical educator at The Children’s Hospital at Montefiore in the Bronx, where she served as the Course Director of the Pediatric Sub-Internship at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She has served as the Director of the Pediatric Clerkship and Senior Clerkship at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Dr. Douglas is an attending physician in the Pediatric Hospital Medicine Program of the Division of General Pediatrics and an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.

Dr. Douglas’research interests include the care of hospitalized children with respiratory illnesses and clinical effectiveness outcomes research. She is the principal investigator of an unfunded, ongoing clinical trial of azithromycin use in children hospitalized with asthma. She is involved in retrospective big-data studies of the treatment and outcomes of children with bronchiolitis, asthma, and pneumonia in the inpatient setting. Dr. Douglas has conducted mentored research in quality improvement studying the contextual factors that contribute to quality improvement project success.
