Dr. Frederick M. Wang, M.D. is one of the premier Pediatric Ophthalmologists in the United States.. He has been recognized as one of America’s top clinicians by Castle Connolly, New York Magazine, and the Super Doctors section in the New York Times. After graduating at the top of his class at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Dr. Wang completed a residency in Pediatrics, becoming Board Certified .While serving as a pediatrician in the United States Air Force, he developed a special interest in Pediatric Ophthalmology. He completed a residency in Ophthalmology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and a Fellowship in Pediatric Ophthalmology at the Children’s National Medical Center in Washington D.C.. He was then Board Certified in Ophthalmology with a Certificate in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus. Dr. Wang has been in clinical practice for over 30 years. Both his patients (and their parents) and peers recognize both his in-office clinical skills as well as his surgical expertise. He is a Past-President of the New York Society for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, the New York Society for Clinical Ophthalmology, and the Section on Ophthalmology at the New York Academy of Medicine. Dr Wang’s teaching and research has resulted in over 40 original articles and textbook chapters and has earned him the prestigious rank of Clinical Professor at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Special clinical and research interests include disorders of eye alignment and eye muscles, learning disability and the eye, and how systemic disease affects the eye. Dr. Wang founded Pediatric Ophthalmology of New York, P.C. and is available for consultations.
