About Me

Farida Nentin, MD, is a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist at The Mount Sinai Hospital and an Associate Professor in the Raquel and Jaime Gilinski Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Science at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Dr. Nentin focuses on general obstetrics and gynecologic care, with a special interest in ambulatory OB/GYN and surgical care of gynecologic issues.

Dr. Nentin joined Mount Sinai as an attending physician in 2014, where she has continued her work to provide high quality care for underserved individuals, as well as taking on leadership roles in medical instruction. Prior to Mount Sinai, Dr. Nentin was with Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx, New York, as an attending obstetrician-gynecologist.

Dr Nentin has a demonstrated passion for medical education and mentorship and serves as the OB/GYN Residency Program Director at Icahn Mount Sinai. She has lectured extensively to medical students and residents and continues to teach and supervise residents, physician assistants, and midwives in the clinical setting. Dr. Nentin has also served as the Faculty Director of the Women’s Health Clinic, East Harlem Health Outreach Partnership, since 2015. In 2017, Dr. Nentin was nominated by her students to receive the East Harlem Health Outreach Partnership Excellence in Ancillary Clinic Award. In 2018, she was again nominated by her students to receive the Institute for Medical Education Excellence in Teaching Award.

Dr. Nentin has a special interest in providing equitable care for underserved populations. She is a member of the Ambulatory Care Subcommittee of the OB/GYN Anti-Racism Task Force. She is also a member of the Ambulatory Care Quality Improvement Committee and the OB/GYN Health Equity Task Force, where she works with her peers to ensure equitable access to health care.

Dr. Nentin received her medical degree from New York Medical College and completed her internship and residency at Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell, where she was Administrative Chief Resident. She is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin, the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, the Society of Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgeons, and the Association of Professors of Gynecology and Obstetrics. She also serves as a certifying examiner for the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology Specialty Certifying Examination.
