Elisa Bocchieri – Bustros, DO, is a Clinical Instructor of Medicine, Endocrinology, Diabetes and Bone Disease at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. She is board certified in both internal medicine and in endocrinology and metabolism and has been caring for patients in Queens and the surrounding boroughs for more than 10 years. She provides compassionate and personalized care and believes in educating and partnering with her patients in optimizing their treatment and improving their health. Her areas of expertise include the treatment and management of diabetes as well as conditions of the thyroid, bone, pituitary, parathyroid, reproductive and adrenal glands.

Dr. Bocchieri – Bustros received her medical degree from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine and went on to complete a residency in internal medicine at Lenox Hill Hospital / Northwell Health in New York City. Subsequently she remained in the New York City area and completed a fellowship in Clinical Nutrition at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center followed by a fellowship in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism at St Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital Center, now known as Mount Sinai St. Luke’s and Mount Sinai West.

She has been a co-investigator and investigator in multiple clinical trials involving the treatment of obesity throughout her fellowship. Prior to joining Mount Sinai Doctors, Queens, Dr. Bocchieri-Bustros was a consultant in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism to the New York State Department of Health in a Doctors Across New York program to improve diabetes in underserved areas in Manhattan and the surrounding boroughs. In addition, as Clinical Instructor at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, she has been holding both clinical and teaching responsibilities in the training of the endocrinology fellows in the endocrinology clinic at Mount Sinai for more than 7 years.

Dr. Bocchieri-Bustros is a member of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists and The Endocrine Society.
