Dr. Bocchieri – Bustros received her medical degree from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine and went on to complete a residency in internal medicine at Lenox Hill Hospital / Northwell Health in New York City. Subsequently she remained in the New York City area and completed a fellowship in Clinical Nutrition at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center followed by a fellowship in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism at St Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital Center, now known as Mount Sinai St. Luke’s and Mount Sinai West.
She has been a co-investigator and investigator in multiple clinical trials involving the treatment of obesity throughout her fellowship. Prior to joining Mount Sinai Doctors, Queens, Dr. Bocchieri-Bustros was a consultant in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism to the New York State Department of Health in a Doctors Across New York program to improve diabetes in underserved areas in Manhattan and the surrounding boroughs. In addition, as Clinical Instructor at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, she has been holding both clinical and teaching responsibilities in the training of the endocrinology fellows in the endocrinology clinic at Mount Sinai for more than 7 years.
Dr. Bocchieri-Bustros is a member of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists and The Endocrine Society.
