DeWitt D. Pyburn, MD is an Assistant Professor of Neurology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and a neurohospitalist covering inpatient and consult services at Mount Sinai Beth Israel and Mount Sinai West.  Dr. Pyburn was in charge of inpatient neurology service at Beth Israel Hospital from December 1996 until June 2017, when that service was discontinued.

Dr. Pyburn is a board-certified neurologist.  He earned his medical degree at Louisiana State University School of Medicine.   Dr. Pyburn completed his residency in neurology at the University of Virginia Health Sciences Center and a fellowship in neurocritical care at the former Beth Israel Hospital.  Dr. Pyburn has received several awards for teaching residents, including the Susan Bressman Excellence in Residency Teaching Award for 2020-2021 and the Mount Sinai Institute for Medical Education Master Clinician Award in 2018.
