Biography

    Dr. Manini graduated Phi Beta Kappa from MIT, then went on to Stanford Medical School where she was awarded 'Service in Action' recognition by hospital patients. During medical school she won a grant from the American Medical Women's Association to provide international humanitarian aid. She completed residency training in Internal Medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, an affiliate of Harvard Medical School. There she specialized in Primary Care and served as a Chief Medical Resident at the Veterans Affairs Hospital. After residency she practiced as a General Internist in the Boston area, while holding an appointment as Clinical Instructor at Tufts University School of Medicine. Currently Dr. Manini divides her time between Internal Medicine Associates at Mt. Sinai Hospital and Refuah Health Center in Spring Valley, NY where she serves as Medical Director.

Physicians and scientists on the faculty of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai often interact with pharmaceutical, device and biotechnology companies to improve patient care, develop new therapies and achieve scientific breakthroughs. In order to promote an ethical and transparent environment for conducting research, providing clinical care and teaching, Mount Sinai requires that salaried faculty inform the School of their relationships with such companies.

Dr. Manini did not report having any of the following types of financial relationships with industry during 2014 and/or 2015: consulting, scientific advisory board, industry-sponsored lectures, service on Board of Directors, participation on industry-sponsored committees, equity ownership valued at greater than 5% of a publicly traded company or any value in a privately held company.
