What Parents Need to Know
The health care team of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Mount Sinai understands that this can be an anxious time for parents. Our goal is to help make the hospital experience as positive as possible for our young patients and their families.
The information you find here is provided as a guide to the NICU—to help you learn about our unit and the team of professionals who will be involved in your baby's care. It includes important guidelines for visitors as well as answers to common questions which often arise during a baby's NICU hospitalization.
We encourage you to ask questions about your baby's progress. Our health care team, including doctors, neonatal nurse practitioners, nurses, and social workers will explain procedures to you and help you through the experience.
