Veniamin Ratner, MD is an Associate Professor in the Division of Newborn Medicine at Mount Sinai Kravis Children's Hospital.  He received his medical degree from the Donetsk State Medical University, Ukraine and undertook postgraduate training in pediatric surgery in the Ukraine. Dr. Ratner completed his Pediatric residency training at Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow, New York and postgraduate training in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine at Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital of New York-Presbyterian at Columbia University Medical Center, in New York City.

Since completing his training, Dr. Ratner worked as Neonatologist in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital of New York, where he played a leading role in the development of the neonatal cardiac intensive care service.

Dr. Ratner was a Medical Director of Neonatal ECMO and an essential member of the multidisciplinary team that was responsible for the management of newborns with difficult airways including cases requiring the Ex Utero Intrapartum Treatment procedure (EXIT) with the goal of establishing an airway while fetus remains supported by placental circulation.

In 2016, he joined the faculty at Mount Sinai Kravis Children's Hospital. In 2019, he became the Director of Neonatal-Perinatal Fellowship Program as well as Medical Director of the Neonatal ECMO program. Dr. Ratner’s clinical areas of expertise include Mechanical Ventilation, Difficult Airway/EXIT Procedure, ECMO and Congenital Heart Disease.
