We are happy and equipped to address any gynecologic problems or concerns in addition to well-woman care. Examples include:

  • Abnormal menstrual bleeding

  • Urinary concerns
  • Ovarian cysts
  • Pelvic pain
  • Pain with intercourse
  • Perimenopausal and menopausal care
  • Family planning and contraception

Annual Exam

All women over age 21 and those who are sexually active should have an annual gynecologic exam. We perform a comprehensive breast and pelvic exam and check for signs of breast and cervical cancer, sexually transmitted diseases, infections or other abnormalities.

Ultrasound

Ultrasound imaging helps monitor and diagnose a wide range of conditions. We perform ultrasound of the pelvis and abdomen routinely. We also offer ultrasounds to pregnant women, to check for fetal wellbeing. We also use ultrasounds to aid in diagnosis.

Perimenopause and Menopause

We are familiar with and happy to treat this transitional period in a woman’s life. We can discuss and treat symptoms that can include irregular bleeding, hot flashes, insomnia, night sweats, fatigue, and depression. We offer many treatment options including hormone replacement therapy.

Pre-menstrual Counseling and Treatment

Premenstrual syndrome and premenstrual dysphoric disorder are common conditions associated with menstrual periods. Symptoms can include bloating, cramping, fatigue, moodiness, sleep irregularity, and depression. Often it can help to exercise regularly, eat healthy foods, get enough sleep, deal with stress, and avoid smoking. Other approaches include birth control pills, anti-depressants, and counseling.

Birth Control

Your choice of birth control (contraception) can affect your daily life. We can talk with you about the options available and help you decide which method is right for you.  Birth control methods vary in frequency of use, convenience, permanence, and effectiveness. Options include: oral contraceptive pills, intrauterine devices, Nexplanon, diaphragms, and permanent sterilization.

Family Planning

We offer a wide variety of services for both wanted and unwanted pregnancies.

Human Papillomavirus Testing and Prevention

Human papillomavirus (HPV) can causes genital warts and abnormal cervical changes. There are more than 100 kinds of HPV and some of them may increase the risk of cancer.  You can contract HPV through sexual contact; using latex condoms can reduce the risk. While there is no cure for HPV, we can treat some of the symptoms such as genital warts, cervical changes, and increased risk of cervical cancer.

Sexually Transmitted Disease Testing and Treatment

Most sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) have no symptoms, so it is hard to know if you have been infected. Periodic testing is recommended, even if you use condoms. It is important to ask your partner if they have or have ever had an STD. We offer safe and confidential STD testing and treatment. While many STDs cannot be cured, effective treatments include antibiotics, antivirals, and other medications.
