Connecting With Local Religious Leaders
The Mount Sinai Department of Pastoral Care hosts a monthly breakfast for leaders of local congregations. These are opportunities to connect and educate ministers, priests, rabbis, pastors, imams and other religious leaders, enabling them to connect their congregants with programs and services at Mount Sinai. Leaders of all faiths are invited to attend. Upcoming breakfast topics include nutrition, cancer and men’s health.
The Community Religious Leadership Outreach Breakfast usually takes place on the last Thursday of each month, unless there are significant holidays in a particular month, usually at 8:15 a.m. The location is announced each month. It is open to all members of the community, with a special emphasis on religious leadership of churches, synagogues, mosques, temples, and other religious institutions in the community. The program usually includes a high-level briefing on medical issues touching our community, and ways congregations can become involved in informing their membership. It also provides community religious leadership with VIP access to Mount Sinai specialists, through personal referral for them or their congregants.
Topics have included:
- Genetic diseases and Women’s Cancers
- Community Outreach from Mount Sinai
- Organ Donation
