The Skull Base and Cranial Base Surgery Program
The Skull Base and Cranial Base Surgery Program of the Department of Neurosurgery at The Mount Sinai Hospital provides evaluation, diagnosis and treatment for patients with a wide range of malignant and benign skull base tumors and lesions such as meningiomas, acoustic neuromas, pituitary tumors, lymphoma and neurofibromatosis through a multidisciplinary team approach.
The collaboration between neurosurgeons and head and neck surgeons have led to breakthroughs in diagnostic and imaging technology allowing our skilled surgeons to detect many common skull base disorders at earlier stages, providing opportunities for surgeons to utilize minimally-invasive techniques that can shorten hospital stays, decrease recovery time, and improve patient outcomes.
Our multidisciplinary team provides comprehensive, highly advanced treatment for lesions located near the complex structures and remote recesses at the base of the skull.
