At the Children’s IBD Center at Mount Sinai, we believe it is important for patients and families to have knowledge about inflammatory bowel disease, to make it easier to manage the disease. There are many resources available through the Center including:

Support group for children and teens with IBD and their siblings For more information, contact Bambi Fisher, LCSW.

IBD Parent Chat
Support group for parents by parents with topics of interest to families of children and teens with IBD.

Family Friends
A program that matches trained volunteer parents with families newly diagnosed with IBD or undergoing a treatment change or surgery.

The program also provides access to young professionals with IBD who have successfully transitioned from the teen years through college and into adulthood. These young volunteers are available to talk or exchange emails with either parents or kids. For more information, contact Bambi Fisher, LCSW.

Family Resource Center
Available through the child life department in The Zone, 1184 Fifth Avenue, the Family Resource Center is a comfortable place created especially for the families of pediatric inpatients. It contains information, in print and online, about health and parenting.

Lecture Series
The Children’s IBD Center at Mount Sinai regularly offers lectures to families on topics related to helping children and teens with IBD.

Video Conferences
The Center holds regular video conferences on nutritional and medical topics to give any family, regardless of where they live or are treated, access to information and a forum for open exchange.
