About the Melanoma and Skin Cancer Center
The Mount Sinai Health System established the Tisch Cancer Institute’s Melanoma and Skin Cancer Center to provide the highest quality care for patients with all stages and all types of skin cancer. We are one of the few centers nationwide that offers comprehensive care for melanoma and other skin cancers, including basal cell carcinoma, cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma, Merkel cell carcinoma, sweat gland tumors, and dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans (DFSP). Our dedicated, multidisciplinary team is expert in managing all types of skin cancer and personalizing the best treatment plan for each patient. Providing Multidisciplinary Care

Offering Advanced Treatments
The advanced care we provide includes a number of cutting-edge therapies, and these offerings are constantly expanding through our clinical trials. Our treatment options include the following
- Dermatology: Mohs micrographic surgery
- Surgery: Sentinel lymph node biopsies, wide excisions, complete lymph node dissection
- Medical: Clinical trials, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, genetic testing of tumors

Not only do we have one of the most robust clinical trial portfolios for skin cancer in the country, we also have scientists working in the lab to investigate the causes of skin cancer growth with the goal of developing novel strategies to advance our treatments.
