About DSM

How is the Clinical Data Communicated?

The C-CDA (Consolidated Clinical Document Architecture) is the standardized structure selected by the ONC for the communication of Summary of Care documents when exchanging between clinical systems as part of Meaningful Use Stage 2; sent via the Mount Sinai Health System HISP.

Joining Mount Sinai DSM

There are many ways to join the Mount Sinai Direct Secure Messaging solution, all dependent on the capabilities of your electronic medical record (EMR) system. We can connect to an EMR if it is Meaningful Use Stage 2 compliant, an HIE, another HISP solution or can provide you with a web portal to receive the summary of care documents. Our Interoperability Team here at Mount Sinai kindly asks you to email the team and we can help broker a meeting to discuss connectivity further.
