Dr. Andrew Hecht: “Doctor Says Tiger Woods Back Issues Likely Muscular”
Tiger Woods on Tuesday pulled out of this week’s Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill, blaming the same back ailment that flared up at the Honda Classic and WGC Cadillac Championship in back-to-back weeks. “This sounds like something that’s muscular,” said Andrew Hecht, MD, Assistant Professor of Orthopaedics and Neurosurgery, and Co-Chair of Spine Surgery at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. “Most of the time it’s self-limited. It gets better with short periods of rest, physical therapy and anti-inflammatories.”
