Lymphedema Program

Patients in the Lymphedema Program are seen as outpatients for 60-minute sessions, three times per week or as needed depending on the severity of their condition. The program’s lymphedema-certified physical therapists perform complete decongestive therapy (CDT), which may include manual lymph drainage, multi-layer bandaging, fitting of compression garments, education and assistance with skin care and practice of exercises to be done at home.

These therapists work in conjunction with referring physicians, who are closely aligned with Mount Sinai’s Dubin Breast Center. In addition to the outpatient program, the program’s certified clinicians are available for inpatient consultations when indicated.
