Bridge Program

This comprehensive rehabilitation program is geared both to those with relatively new brain injuries, with goals of improving stamina and basic skill development, as well as to people with moderate-to-severe injuries, who will be able to generalize strategies learned in class to their lives at home.

Skill development focuses on the effective use of a calendar, successful social communication and self-expression, emotional regulation, critical thinking and writing skills.

We promote well-being through classes that emphasize brain health, the development of recreational opportunities and relaxation practices. Practical application of skills is nurtured through participants producing a quarterly newsletter, participating in music lessons and taking art classes. Volunteer opportunities are explored with a vocational counselor. Program activities are facilitated by neuropsychologists; recreation, speech and physical therapists; a vocational counselor; peer mentors; and volunteers.
