Neuropsychology

Neuropsychological/Psychology Services focus on individuals who have sustained a neurological injury, such as

• Traumatic or acquired brain injury
• Spinal cord injury
• Cerebral vascular accident
• Multiple sclerosis

Neuropsychological assessments, structured psychological clinical interviews and/or neuropsychological or psychological differential diagnosis evaluations may be used in assessing the person’s impairments.

Mount Sinai offers treatment options including

• Psychoeducation interventions for patients and families
• Cognitive remediation
• Supportive psychotherapy to assist with adjustment to disability
• Cognitive-behavioral treatment for emotional issues including depression, anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
