Neuropsychological/Psychology Services focus on individuals who have sustained a neurological injury, such as
- Traumatic or acquired brain injury
- Spinal cord injury
- Cerebral vascular accident
- Multiple sclerosis
Neuropsychological assessments, structured psychological clinical interviews and/or neuropsychological or psychological differential diagnosis evaluations may be used in assessing the person’s impairments.
Mount Sinai offers treatment options including
- Psychoeducation interventions for patients and families
- Cognitive remediation
- Supportive psychotherapy to assist with adjustment to disability
- Cognitive-behavioral treatment for emotional issues including depression, anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
