At the Mount Sinai Women's Gastrointestinal Health Center, we have a registered dietitian on staff to develop food plans to ease our patients' digestive symptoms. Dietary modifications can help manage many gastrointestinal conditions, from constipation and diarrhea to celiac disease and reflux. Whereas some people seek relief by excluding entire food groups, a practice that can lead to unhealthy outcomes, our dietitian may determine that eliminating a single type of food is all that's needed. The dietitian may also advise lifestyle modifications or supplements.
