Weight Management Treatments
The medically supervised Weight Management Program is highly structured to help you achieve your weight and health management goals. We teach you the lifestyle skills and health habits necessary to lose weight, maintain that weight loss, and improve your overall health. The results you achieve will depend on the extent to which you are able to adopt those lifestyle skills into your routine long term. Our professional staff is committed to helping you do so by providing the best care and the highest level of support possible.
Weight Loss under a Doctor’s Care
To manage your weight, you must first understand your metabolism. Upon joining the Program, you will undergo a complete screening by an endocrinologist who has many years of experience in treating obesity and its associated conditions. You will also have regular medical checkups, blood work, and adjustments to any diabetes, blood pressure, cholesterol, and other obesity-related medications throughout the Program. All care is provided in collaboration with your primary care physician.
A Healthy, Easy-to-Follow Diet
The first part of the Program is designed to help you lose weight quickly and safely. You will not have to count calories, weigh or measure your food, or even decide what to eat. All you have to do is follow the prescribed meal plan, with its wide variety of delicious, nutritionally complete shakes and entrees.
One of the most important aspects of any weight loss effort is what happens once you have met your weight loss goal. With our Program, you will make a smooth transition from the weight loss phase to the weight maintenance phase. During the weight maintenance phase, you will develop the healthy lifestyle skills you need to stay at the weight that is right for you. These skills—increasing physical activity and consuming more fruits and vegetables while decreasing sugar and fat in your diet—also contribute to dramatic health improvements. You'll look great and feel better! The skills taught in our Weight Management Program are also critical for long-term weight management and general health management. They can reduce the risk of heart disease, stroke, diabetes, and other chronic diseases. Many of our patients achieve major reductions in medical risk factors such as high blood pressure, cholesterol, triglycerides, and blood sugars.
Our healthcare professionals work with you to make practical and realistic changes that will continue once you get off the diet. Registered dietitians lead a weekly small group session that is specially designed to help you apply strategies that balance food and physical activity. The weekly session is scheduled after work hours in a convenient and confidential environment.
