Despite all the dire warnings about an increased risk of skin cancer and how sunsoaked skin is going to turn into a wrinkled raisin, sun worshippers will still flock to the beach this summer. But can you be a healthy sun worshipper? “There really is no safe way to go out into the sun,” said Joshua Zeichner, MD, Director of Cosmetic and Clinical Research in the department of dermatology and assistant professor of dermatology at The Mount Sinai Medical Center. “There are a lot of myths about sun exposure. Sun protection is the most important way to prevent skin cancers and cosmetic photo damage to the skin.”
