Since its establishment in 1968 as the first primary care program in New York specifically created for the health needs of teens, the Mount Sinai Adolescent Health Center (MSAHC) has grown to become a model of excellence in adolescent health care nationally and worldwide. We've broadened our vision to match the needs of the Center's steadily rising number of young people we serve, growing from 900 in 1971 to more than 12,000 each year.

We’ve expanded, renovated and created a bright, welcoming place for young people to come at our spacious East 94th Street location in New York City. Our interdisciplinary team continues to deliver the same compassionate, high-quality, integrated care that has been the heart of the Center’s mission since the beginning—at no cost to our patients.

Our Services

The Mount Sinai Adolescent Health Center in New York City offers a comprehensive array of medical, mental health, and reproductive health services, plus prevention education to young people aged 10 to 26. Our multidisciplinary staff includes pediatricians who specialize in Adolescent Medicine, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, health educators, and support staff specially trained to work with teens.

Staffing at the Center’s 94th Street location—as well as at each of the six school-based clinics—also includes bilingual health care providers.

Confidential services at no cost to patients

All of our health education, mental health, and family planning services are available at no cost. We accept Medicaid and most other medical insurance plans. Patients with Medicaid should always bring their Medicaid cards to the Center. They can learn more about HealthFirst, a Medicaid managed care plan in which Mount Sinai is a provider, by speaking with a staff member. Our patients’ privacy is important, and each of our health care providers and support staff, at all times, are mindful of that need for privacy and confidentiality.
