About the Hospital

Combining medical excellence with clinical innovation, we are a 696-bed teaching hospital, founded in 1889, located on Manhattan’s Lower East Side. We emphasize our services in heart disease, cancer, neurology, orthopedics, gastrointestinal disease, chemical dependency, psychiatric disorders, pain management and palliative care, and HIV/AIDS research and treatment. Our participation in the Mount Sinai Health System enables us to expand our commitment to community-based ambulatory care and expanding patient access to primary and specialty care.
