Grenye O’Malley, MD, chief endocrine fellow in the division of endocrinology, diabetes and bone disease at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, presented her research at the American Diabetes Association’s 78th Annual Scientific Sessions, about her study data on insulin pen priming for patients with type 1 diabetes that require multiple daily injections (MDIs). She also talked about the need to improve communication with these patients to better meet their needs and relieve them of burden. “The majority of type 1 diabetics use multiple daily injections, and it's a huge area that we just don't know anything about. I think that was probably the most surprising thing to me going through the study,” said Dr. O’Malley.
