Nearly six million kids have food allergies, and boys seem to have developed food allergies more than girls, but there is some hope. Clinical trials are taking place at The Mount Sinai Hospital that could help parents and their kids breathe easier. “There are a number of different approaches that we’re taking now,” said Dr. Hugh Sampson, Director of the Jaffe Food Allergy Institute at Mount Sinai. ”One that’s probably had the most press is oral immunotherapy.
