Regularly downing four to five alcoholic beverages in one sitting interferes with the area of the brain that controls insulin regulation, which increases your risk for diabetes down the line, researchers at Mount Sinai found in a new study published in Science Translational Medicine. "There is very little known about binge drinking and the pre-diabetic state," said Christoph Buettner, MD, PhD, study author and associate professor of medicine at Mount Sinai.
