About Me

Dr. Woojin Chong is an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Assistant Fellowship Director of Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Her practice focuses on pelvic organ prolapse, urinary incontinence, and patient education.

Dr. Chong was born and raised in South Korea. She graduated from Chonbuk National University in South Korea with a major in Fashion Design and a minor in Education. After several years in the workforce, she studied Performing Arts in a graduate school at Sungkyunkwan University in South Korea.

After moving to New York City, Dr. Chong graduated summa cum laude from State University of New York at Purchase. She received her medical degree from the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine, where she received the Outstanding Performance and Services in Medical Humanities Award. Dr. Chong completed a Residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine at Montefiore Medical Center where she received the Davidoff Society Award for Excellence in Student Teaching and The Resident Teaching Award. Dr. Chong completed a Fellowship in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where she received The New York Obstetrical Society’s Outstanding Fellow’s Presentation Award.

Dr. Chong has presented numerous abstracts and presentations at multiple scientific national conferences. She has also published a number of articles in peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Chong is a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, Arnold P. Gold Honor Society, Sigma Xi, the Scientific Research Society, Society of Gynecologic Surgeons, American Urogynecologic Society, and American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. 

Dr. Chong is fluent in English and Korean.
