About Me

Sloane Sheldon, Ph.D. is a Clinical Neuropsychologist and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurology, Division of Epilepsy at Mount Sinai. Dr. Sheldon completed her pre-doctoral clinical internship in Neuropsychology at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, and her post-doctoral fellowship at Columbia University Medical Center’s Comprehensive Epilepsy Center. She received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology with a focus in Neuropsychology from Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology at Yeshiva University.

Dr. Sheldon provides neuropsychological assessments on individuals with a wide range of neurological disorders, with a focus on those with epilepsy. Her evaluations aim to help patients understand their cognitive strengths and weaknesses and how this may impact daily functioning in order to maximize their quality of life. Additionally, her assessments inform diagnosis and medical treatment planning. Dr. Sheldon works closely with the epilepsy team to ensure that each patient receives the optimal course of treatment for their unique clinical presentation and needs. She also assists with intra- and extra-operative language mappings and Wada procedures.

In addition to clinical work, Dr. Sheldon’s research interests include studying the cognitive sequalae of epilepsy and how neuropsychological assessment can best be utilized in pre-surgical planning. She has published several scholarly articles in these areas. She also trains doctoral students in neuropsychological test administration and interpretation.
