About Me

Shirley Chan, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Radiology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. She graduated summa cum laude from Binghamton University and received her medical degree from State University of New York– Upstate Medical University. She completed a residency in diagnostic radiology at the University of Rochester and further trained in neuroradiology at Columbia University Medical Center-New York Presbyterian. During her subspecialty fellowship, Dr. Chan obtained advanced imaging proficiency in functional MRI, perfusion MRI, spectroscopy, and diffusion tensor imaging. She is a member of the American Board of Radiology, American Society of Neuroradiology, and American Roentgen Ray Society.

Dr. Chan practices neuroradiology in addition to general diagnostic radiology. Her clinical interests include: brain and spine tumors, seizure disorders, demyelinating diseases, brain and spine infections, and vascular disorders. She is proficient in diagnostic procedures, including fluoroscopic guided lumbar punctures and CT myelograms.
