Shanna K. Patterson, M.D. is the Site Medical Director for Neurology, as well as the Director of the Electromyography (EMG) Laboratory, at Mount Sinai West and Mount Sinai St. Luke’s Hospitals. She is also the Associate Program Director of the Neurology Residency at Mount Sinai Hospital. Her subspecialty certifications include the American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine and Clinical Neurophysiology. Dr. Patterson completed her residency training in Neurology and a fellowship in Clinical Neurophysiology, with an emphasis on electromyography (EMG) and neuromuscular disorders, at Columbia University.
Her academic pursuits currently focus on physician wellness and physician-patient communication. She is a Communication Ambassador for Mount Sinai. Her clinical practice focuses on peripheral neuromuscular disease and electrodiagnostic testing (EMG/NCS).
