About Me

Satish Nagula is the Director of Endoscopic Ultrasound. Dr. Nagula’s clinical interests are in pancreatic diseases, biliary diseases, Barrett’s esophagus, and other pre-cancerous and cancerous lesions of the gastrointestinal tract (stomach, small intestine, ampulla, colon, pancreas, bile ducts, liver). He specializes in advanced diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, including endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), fine needle aspiration (FNA), endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), endoluminal stent placement (esophagus, gastroduodenal, colonic), endoscopic mucosal resection, radiofrequency ablation (RFA), and complex polypectomy. His research focuses on novel procedural techniques to evaluate and manage malignant and pre-malignant lesions of the gastrointestinal tract.

Dr. Nagula received his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia, and his medical degree from Yale University School of Medicine. He completed his internal medicine training at the University of Pennsylvania and completed his fellowship in gastroenterology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. During his gastroenterology fellowship, he received specialized training in advanced endoscopic procedures, such as endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) and ERCP.

Prior to joining Mt. Sinai, Dr. Nagula served on the faculty at Stony Brook University School Medicine in Long Island for several years.
