Sam Altman, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Radiology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. After receiving an undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania, he received his medical degree from Stony Brook University School of Medicine. He went on to complete a residency in diagnostic radiology at Mount Sinai St. Luke’s – Mount Sinai West. Subsequently, he completed a fellowship in Breast and Body MRI imaging at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center.

Dr. Altman specializes in advanced multi-modality imaging and imaging-guided intervention for breast cancer screening and diagnosis, including 3D mammography/tomosynthesis, MRI and ultrasound. His expertise also includes advanced, multi-modality, gastrointestinal, genitourinary and vascular imaging, including MRI, computed tomography and ultrasound. He finds the interdisciplinary component of his work especially rewarding, as he collaborates with surgeons, oncologists, pathologists, and his patients. He is a member of the American College of Radiology and the Radiological Society of North America.
