About Me

Dr. Ryan Minara is a New Yorker through and through. Born and raised in Queens, he attended the prestigious Regis High School in Manhattan on full academic Scholarship. His scholastic success continued, receiving full academic scholarships to both New York University (NYU) and the New York College of Podiatric Medicine (NYCPM). While undergoing his medical training he sat on the Board of Trustees of the American Podiatric Medical Association, and received the Excellence and Empathy in Podopediatrics award, among others.  After earning his Doctorate degree, Dr. Minara completed a rigorous four year residency training program in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery from New York Presbyterian Queens.  While there, he served as Chief Resident in his third and fourth years.

After completing his residency training, Dr. Minara began working at Mount Sinai Beth Israel’s Centers for Podiatry and Advance Wound Healing. He was also an associate in private practice. Within his time in private practice, Dr. Minara has served as team Podiatrist for the New York Lizards (Major League Lacrosse), Podiatry Captain for the New York City Triathlon, Podiatrist at the Hamptons Marathon, and podiatric consultant to several universities.  He has served as Faculty Instructor and Associate Director of Podiatric Medical Education at Mount Sinai Beth Israel. Currently, Dr. Minara serves as Chief of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery (a division of the Orthopedics Department), as well as medical director of the podiatry clinic and faculty practice at Mount Sinai Beth Israel.  He is often sought after to lecture at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine, many undergraduate Universities, and national medical societies for Podiatry and other medical specialties (Rheumatology, Physical therapy, etc.).  He is double board certified in both Foot Surgery AND Reconstructive Rearfoot/Ankle Surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.

Dr. Minara’s interest in medicine began at an early age after being diagnosed as a type one diabetic as a child. This gives him additional insight into (and empathy for) the plight of many of his patients. He believes in a comprehensive approach to foot and ankle pathologies, and takes the whole person into account when devising treatment programs.  Dr. Minara has a special interest and focus on complex foot and ankle surgery and wound care. He is well trained in advanced procedures for the treatment of any and all foot and ankle pathologies.
