About Me

Robert Stewart, M.D., is a radiation oncologist specializing in the treatment of Head and Neck, Genitourinary and Ocular Malignancies.  He uses many advanced techniques such Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), Image Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT), Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT), and brachytherapy to maximize local control and cure of the cancer while minimizing radiation side effects to healthy tissue.

Dr. Stewart graduated from Dalhousie University with a medical degree.  He completed his Residency in Radiation Oncology at the Juravinski Cancer Center through McMaster University. Dr. Stewart then went on to complete a Fellowship in Brachytherapy through the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Beth Israel Hospital.

Dr. Stewart’s primary research focus is attempting to improve clinical outcomes while limiting side effects in management of prostate cancer.  In addition, Dr. Stewart has conducted research in the areas of adaptive treatment for Head and Neck Cancer and Intraoperative Radiotherapy.  His work has resulted in multiple presentations at international meetings.
