Original Bio:
Rafael A. Guillén, MD, has been providing compassionate, personalized care to patients in the Queens and Bronx communities for 12 years. He believes his patients’ physical conditions are intricately tied to their psychological and social states. It is through this holistic approach that he feels he can most effectively care for patients and improve outcomes. By educating his patients about their medical conditions and treatment plans, he promotes patient compliance as well as the effectiveness of treatment. He values the long-term relationships he has with his patients and the positive effect he has on their well-being. He enjoys caring for geriatric patients and helping them feel better and live longer.

Dr. Guillén received his medical degree from the Universidad Eugenio Maria de Hostos School of Medicine in the Dominican Republic and went on to complete a residency in internal medicine at the Bronx Lebanon Hospital. He is certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine and he is a member of the American College of Physicians, the American Medical Association and the Dominican College of Physicians.


Dr. Rafael Guillen joined Mount Sinai as an Internist in 2010. After graduating with his medical degree from Universidad Eugenio Maria de Hostos School of Medicine in the Dominican Republic, Dr. Guillen completed his Internal Medicine residency at Bronx Lebanon Hospital. With his certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Guillen specializes in caring for geriatric patients to help them feel better and live a longer, healthier life. Additionally, Dr. Guillen is bilingual and can communicate with patients in English and Spanish.

In his professional community, Dr. Guillen is a member of the American College of Physicians, the American Medical Association, and the Dominican College of Physicians.
