Dr. Rachel Maiman is a board-certified dermatologist in clinical practice at Marmur Medical on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. With a primary focus on cosmetic and general dermatology, she excels at the use of injectables and is proficient in laser surgery, microneedling, platelet-rich plasma (PRP), radiofrequency, and body contouring. Her clinical expertise also encompasses complex medical and inpatient dermatology, a result of thorough training in the use of advanced systemic therapies and immunodermatology during her dermatology residency. At The Mount Sinai Hospital, Dr. Maiman serves as a clinical instructor, where she rounds weekly on the inpatient dermatology service, where her skill in diagnosis and management of severe adverse cutaneous drug eruptions and autoimmune bullous dermatosis is particularly valued.
Dr. Maiman graduated magna cum laude from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. She earned her medical degree from the Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C., where she also graduated magna cum laude. She completed her medicine internship at North Shore University Hospital / Long Island Jewish Medical Center and thereafter returned to Georgetown University to complete her dermatology residency.
An active member of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society for Laser Medicine & Surgery and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, Dr. Maiman has lectured on general, inpatient and cosmetic dermatology at both local and national meetings. She is also well-published in several peer-reviewed journals and has authored several textbook chapters in dermatology.
