My lab develops statistical genetics methods and software in Genetic Epidemiology (eg. multi-trait GWAS: MultiPhen, Polygenic Risk Scores: PRSice) and Population Genetics (eg. detecting selection: Ped/Pop method), in order to gain insights into how the human genome evolves and gives rise to disease. Our applied work focuses on Psychiatric Genetics.

If you are interested in any of the following lab themes then contact me (paul.oreilly@mssm.edu) to discuss:

(1) The theory and application of polygenic risk scores

(2) Functional convergence of disease risk (along pathways)

(3) Leveraging diverse-ancestry genetic data to understand disease aetiology

(4) Inferring causal relationships among traits and diseases from genetics

(5) Statistical Genetics of Brain Disorders (Alzheimer's, Schizophrenia)
