Michael DeStefano, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Radiology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He received his medical degree from Yale University School of Medicine. He then completed a residency in diagnostic radiology at Bryn Mawr Hospital and subspecialty fellowship training in breast and body imaging at New York Presbyterian - Columbia University Medical Center.

Dr. DeStefano specializes in all modalities of breast imaging including mammography, 3D tomosynthesis, ultrasound and MRI. He performs image guided breast and lymph node biopsies and needle localization procedures. He works in conjunction with pathologists, oncologists and breast surgeons to provide an integrated, personalized approach to each patient’s care. He has been involved in multiple research projects, most recently investigating the imaging findings following intra-operative breast radiation.

Dr. DeStefano also received subspecialty training in ultrasound and cross sectional imaging of the abdomen and pelvis. His clinical interests include vascular ultrasound and CTA/MRA. Dr. DeStefano is a member of the American College of Radiology, Society of Breast Imaging and the Society of Computed Body Tomography and Magnetic Resonance.
