Dr. Oransky earned his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Fordham University in New York.  He completed his Pre-Doctoral Clinical Psychology Internship at the Yale University Medical School’s Child Study Center.  Dr. Oransky also completed a Post-Doctoral Fellowship at the Yale Child Study Center’s Childhood Trauma Program, where he received specialized training in psychological interventions for children, adolescents and families exposed to potentially traumatic events. Prior to joining the Mount Sinai Hospital faculty, Dr. Oransky worked as a psychologist at the New York Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children, a non-profit child welfare organization in New York City.  Currently, as a part of the Mount Sinai Adolescent Health Center, Dr. Oransky provides individual, family and group therapy as well as psychological testing for the adolescent population.  In addition, Dr. Oransky provides individual and family mental health services for adolescents enrolled in transgender health services at the Adolescent Health Center.  Dr. Oransky is a clinical supervisor in the APA Accredited Clinical Psychology Pre-Doctoral Internship Program and for the Psychology Externship Program. Dr. Oransky’s research interests have focused on factors that impact youths’ responses to trauma, the impact of gender role expectations on adolescent development and the ethical treatment of vulnerable research subjects.
