I am a board certified pediatric neurologist and epileptologist who specializes in difficult-to-treat pediatric seizure disorders, with a focus on surgically remediable epilepsy syndromes in infants and children. I am skilled in the use of the ketogenic diet for intractable epilepsy as well as in the treatment of spasticity using the intrathecal baclofen pump. I also treat autoimmune epilepsies, genetic epilepsies, headaches, and epilepsy in the setting of developmental delays, and I am part of the Tuberous Sclerosis Clinic in New York City. During my pediatric epilepsy/ neurophysiology fellowship, I acquired expertise in neonatal electroencephalography, and now serve as the consulting epileptologist for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Mount Sinai West and Mount Sinai Hospital.
I have a large referral base of Spanish speaking patients from different parts of New York, especially from Manhattan, Bronx, and Queens. I additionally reach out to increase epilepsy awareness in the Hispanic community through appearances on Univision, the Spanish language television network.
I am part of a very strong and innovative program in epilepsy surgery, and in keeping up with the latest advances in the field, I now provide screening of surgical candidates for laser ablation of epileptic foci, responsive neurostimulation (RNS), and robotic stereo EEG electrode implantation.
